Connect FC-1 to FC-3 USB?

Is it possible to connect an FC-1 to the FC-3 using the Host USB on FC-3, with the FC-3 being connected to my Macbook controlling patch changes?

This is follow up really to my previous post about wanting to have the foot switch socket on FC-3 as a CC message send. That cannot be done so I wondered. The FC-1 has USB 3, if I connect it to the larger USB socket on the FC-3 can I program FC-1 as a discreet midi device in my Macbook? That way my partner can have a "next section" foot switch without having a completely separate USB cable all the way across the stage from the Mac. I can run the USB B to FC-3 from Mac, then a cable from there to FC-1 - makes sense to me but want to check before buying FC-1.
