Erratic MPC-10 connect function

When trying to connect my MPC-10 pedal (comes up as DOREMIDI MPC-10-124A in Pedal Config software) I have to try several times (sometimes up to over 50 attempts) to get the software to connect to a connected switch type pedal.

Sometimes it connects first time (but not very often!).

• Pedal types 'normally closed' and 'normally open' both tried

• Pedal Config Tool: v 3.0.5 ( reinstalled several times)

• Firmware v.1.4.6 (advised as current version - no newer updates)

Once it has connected everything works fine, but as soon as the power is removed from the USB connection, and it needs to be powered up again, re-connection is very, very unpredictable. ...

Any ideas?
