Hi,
I just got the midi-dmx interface and generally it looks great, but I think I've found one issue. I'd be greatful if someone could clarify if my understanding of what's going on is correct:
Many midi devices send Note On Vel 0 in place of Note Off. The two are generally considered equivalent (I don't think anyone cares about note Off velocity). I think even the official midi spec says that devices should consider them equivalent.
I'm used Cubase to generate midi notes which I mapped on the interface. However there's no way (I think) to send a Note On Velocity 0. Many (most?) keyboards would send Note On Val 0 when the key is released, but Cubase sends a real Note Off, which of course isn't mapped on the interface (and there's no way to map it). So when the note triggers the channel is set to the high value, but isn't reset when the note releases.
Is there anyway to get the interface to recognise a Note Off as being equivalent to Note On Velocity 0? I'm guessing the answer is No - but I'd be great full if you could confirm that my interpretation is correct.
I've worked around it by using CC's instead but the immediacy of note on/off would speed up some aspects of programming.
