USB 3.1 MIDI Hub-MIDI HUB-8

I am having difficulty getting MIDI messages from the MIDI-IN interfaces to devices on the MIDI-OUT interfaces. It occurs to me that this may not be the intended use fort his product, and that all MIDI data only flows from the MIDI-IN to USB host and from USB Host to MIDI-OUT.

I am trying to use this as a HUB to connect multiple input 5-DIN MIDI devices to multiple output 5-DIN devices, so that I don't have to daisy chain all my devices on the pedal board. When I just have power connected to the box, and one device sending input, I get no LED flash on the MIDI-OUT side.

Is this correct?
