Sending multiple MIDI messages not working on MES-8

I am trying to control the loops on my MES-8 I recently received. I have no problem using CCs to turn loops on and off with one CC on a patch. However, when I send multiple MIDI messages from one patch it doesn't work. The display will show a loop went on but it did not. There isnt much instruction online to help me. If I use the learn function to program PCs for multiple loop combinations it only accepts the last one I sent. Chatgbt says basically that this is just the way it works but I don't really trust that for the more obscure gear like this device. Any help would be appreciated.
