Connecting an expression pedal: not working correctly

I am attempting to use an expression pedal with Mainstage.

I have the pedal connected and programmed via the DoReMidi software so that when I move the pedal, it is showing correct gradual values up and down across the entire 0 - 127 range within the DoReMidi software.

However; when I try to connect it to mainstage it is not sending the same midi signal: it appears to be sending only a single value or something completely different.

I tested the midi signal using Snoize midi monitor, and the data I get from there is only a single value across the entire range, rather than the gradual change I need and that I see within DoReMidi.

So, to me, it seems like there is some disconnect from the DoReMidi software out to any other program. Can anyone help me fix this?

Settings in the DoReMidi software:

Continuous Pedal, range 0 - 127, CC 11, Expression. Seems strange that it is working correctly within the program but not being sent correctly out of the program.
